In the plateau zone, flora is very poor as a result of weather. Bushes are short and stocky to prevent themselves from the action of wind. We can find coirón, cebadilla, neneo, jarillas and other species. Only in a little wet zones there are mallines, depressions with no drainage, flat and clayey bottoms where grass can grow in accumulated water.
In the region named Andina there is a rich cold woods. There are coihues, maitenes, cypresses, ñires and alerces of great height (even 60 meters) and diameter (3 meters).
In Los Alerces National Park it is possible to find 3000 year old trees; this place is in the NO angle of the province. Here, species grow up to 900 meters high ground, approximately; from there, the lengal takes place.
Transit through the woods is not easy because there are colihues, minor bushes, helechos, moss and lichens cane thickets.
Llao-llao is a mushroom typical of this place; it forms tumorous shapes in the trees.
